An evidence-based proposal for Harbor

Taylor apresenta uma proposta de software com ressalvas, precisão lexical, evidências e negociação de expectativas.

The proposal

In announcing a difficult service outage, Taylor opened a proposal about the Harbor platform by separating the issue from the problem. She highlighted the terms “confirm” and “past perfect” as part of the framing. The distinction mattered because an attractive solution could still fail to address the underlying user need.

The available evidence pointed in one direction, although it was not conclusive. Taylor used the expressions “de-escalate” and “imperative” to acknowledge uncertainty, then explained that a limited experiment would be more effective than a full redesign. The team recorded “retrospective” in the decision note.

Morgan raised a concern about timing. Rather than dismissing it, Taylor reformulated the trade-off: the team could provide an early signal next week while reserving a final decision until the results were stronger. The proposal became a sequence of decisions instead of a single promise.
