Objetivo

Aprender o vocabulário essencial de Scrum e Kanban em inglês (sprint, backlog, task, story, epic, in progress, done, blocked, impediment) e usar essas palavras para mover tickets no board e explicar status e bloqueios em um stand-up simples.

Explicação

Em times de software, o trabalho é organizado em sprints (iterações curtas, em geral de 1 a 4 semanas) e listado em um backlog (a fila priorizada de tudo que precisa ser feito). Cada item do backlog pode ser uma story (uma funcionalidade do ponto de vista do usuário), uma task (um trabalho técnico interno) ou um bug. Várias stories relacionadas formam um epic.

O trabalho é acompanhado em um board (quadro) com colunas que mostram o status de cada item. Os status mais comuns em inglês são:

• To Do — ainda não começou.
• In Progress — alguém está trabalhando agora.
• In Review (ou Code Review) — pronto, esperando outra pessoa revisar.
• Blocked — parado por algum problema, também chamado de impediment ou blocker.
• Done — concluído.

Para mover um ticket entre colunas, use `move + ticket + to + status`: `Can you move this ticket to In Progress?`, `I moved the bug to Done.` Para pegar um item do backlog para começar a trabalhar, use `pick up`: `I'll pick up the next ticket.`

Em um stand-up (reunião diária curta), a estrutura mais simples é responder três coisas:

1. O que você fez ontem: `Yesterday, I finished the bug fix.`
2. O que você vai fazer hoje: `Today, I'm going to work on the login story.`
3. Bloqueios: `I have no blockers.` ou `I'm blocked on the API key.`

Estimativas em Scrum costumam usar story points: `We estimated this story at 3 points.` O número é uma medida relativa de esforço, não de horas.

Exemplos

Erros comuns

• Tratar sprint como verbo: 'we sprinted the work' está errado; sprint é substantivo (we ran a sprint, we finished a sprint).
• Confundir story e task: story é algo que entrega valor ao usuário, task é trabalho técnico interno.
• Usar 'blocked from' em vez de 'blocked on' ou 'blocked by': o padrão em stand-up é 'blocked on + causa'.
• Dizer 'I'm doing the stand-up' em vez de 'we're in the stand-up' ou 'we're at the stand-up'.
• Esquecer a preposição 'to' em mover tickets: 'move the ticket to Done', não 'move the ticket Done' nem 'move the ticket for Done'.
• Usar 'points' como se fosse verbo ou trocar a unidade: 'We estimate 3 story points', não 'We estimate 3 points of story'.

Monday stand-up

Today I'm going to pick up the search story." Carla said, "Yesterday I deployed the hotfix. Today I'll work on the payment story. No blockers." A blocker on Wednesday

On Wednesday, Carla had a problem with the payment story. She said in the stand-up, "I'm blocked on the API key. The provider didn't send the credentials." Maria asked, "What's blocking you? When did you request the credentials?" Carla answered, "I sent the request yesterday, but they didn't reply. The deadline is Friday." Maria moved the ticket from In Progress to Blocked on the board. On Friday, Carla fixed the blocker and got the API key. She moved the payment story back to In Progress and finished it before lunch. The team ran a quick code review and approved the pull request. Daniel moved the story to Done and closed the ticket. In the sprint review, the team closed four of the five stories they planned. Maria said, "Great sprint. Tomorrow we're going to plan the next epic and set the priority for each story."
