A difficult Saturday

The roof of the community centre began to leak during a children’s workshop. Marta coordinated the volunteers: two people moved the children, one contacted the families and another checked the rooms. So far, no one was hurt, but the main entrance had become slippery. The families were reassured when they received a short, factual update. A temporary entrance mitigated the immediate disruption.

From response to prevention

After the workshop, the group held a debrief with the caretaker and the families. They found that the first warning had not been visible from the street. The review named poor visibility, heavy rain and a crowded entrance as contributing factors. The caretaker became the owner of a clearer sign, to be installed before the next event. The group learned that calm coordination and honest follow-up can turn a difficult day into prevention.
