At a cultural festival, Helena met Omar beside a table of handmade instruments. The music was lively, and a question about the instruments helped keep the conversation going. When Omar mentioned that the festival had changed, Helena pivoted to the history of the neighborhood.

Omar felt that new styles were weakening the tradition, while Helena saw them as a way to keep it alive. They found common ground in their wish to keep the music accessible to children. I see it slightly differently, Helena said, but I understand why protecting the old form matters to you.

A harmless callback to a missed rhythm made them laugh without making either person the target. After fifteen minutes, Helena noticed her friends waiting near the entrance and used a closing cue.
