At the first meeting
Flavia is at the language club in the morning. She says hello to Leo and says, “My name is Flavia.” She also repeats “turn” when Leo asks a friendly question. She is from Brazil, and she lives in Brasília.
At a small table, she practices “like” and “straight” with a notebook. She asks about “menu” and checks “water”, while Leo gives a clear example with “open” and “closed”.
Practicing together
Before she leaves, Leo writes a short message with “let’s”, “love”, and “meet”. The sound is not clear, so Flavia asks, “Can you repeat that, please?” Then they smile, say goodbye, and go home.
At lunch, Flavia shows Leo the same message again. They point to “turn” and “water”, read the words slowly, and check each other’s answer.
A small routine
In the afternoon, Flavia uses “closed” and “meet” in a short conversation. It is not perfect, but the two friends understand each other and feel ready for tomorrow.
