Riverside Weekend Notes 80: A Connected Story

Nesta leitura A2, Olivia participa de um projeto da biblioteca em Fortaleza, resolve um problema simples, conta o que aconteceu e combina um próximo passo. A narrativa recicla passado, sequência, pedidos e planos dos cinco temas mais recentes.

The trip and the problem

Last Saturday, Olivia went to the neighborhood cafe in Fortaleza for a library project. Before leaving, she checked “a problem” and “get up” in her notes, then remembered “a cause”. The trip was easy, and she arrived before the activity began.

During the event, Olivia noticed a small problem. She needed “opening hours”, but the first person gave her “yesterday” instead. She asked a simple question, listened to the answer, and chose a better option.

Telling the story

After that, Olivia talked with Noah. They used “to arrange” to describe what had happened and “a cause” to talk about the next step. The delay was short, so everyone stayed calm.

At home, Olivia told her family the beginning, middle, and ending of the story. She said that “go out” and “tomorrow” were useful, and that “a price” and “a delay” would help next time. She felt tired, but she was happy with the result.

A new plan

The next morning, she wrote a short message to Noah. She explained “tomorrow”, thanked the group for “a delay”, and made a simple plan for the following week.

Looking back, Olivia understood that a small question can solve a big confusion. She will go again, bring her notes, and tell the story to another friend.
