História: Estruturar uma proposta para um problema real

Nível: B2

The problem

The neighborhood language club was growing, but many parents could not attend the evening class. The coordinator prepared a proposal to make the meetings more accessible. I’ll start with the problem, she said at the meeting. The current schedule was convenient for students, but it was difficult for parents with small children.

Two options

The first option was to add a Saturday morning session. The second option was to record a short lesson for people to watch at home. If the club added a Saturday session, parents could study together with their children. If lessons were recorded, the club would need someone to edit and share them.

Risks and recommendation

The main benefit of the first option was direct conversation with a teacher. The main risk was that fewer volunteers might be available on Saturdays. From a practical standpoint, the coordinator thought the first option was more feasible. To conclude, she recommended a three-month Saturday trial.

The next step

The next step was to ask parents whether the proposed time worked for them. The group agreed that the plan could be changed after the trial.
